As a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with over three decades of experience in nursing and healthcare and a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am committed to providing compassionate and inclusive care to all individuals. My extensive expertise, particularly in delivering comprehensive primary care to the LGBTQIA+ community, has been honed through my tenure as Clinical Director and Family Nurse Practitioner at one of the largest free clinics in Dallas. During that period, I established a specialized LGBTQIA+ clinic, focusing on HIV care, transgender care, PrEP, PEP, and primary care tailored to the unique needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. My practice is driven by a heartfelt commitment to ensuring equitable and respectful healthcare for every patient I serve.
I hold a BSN from the University of Tulsa and an MS in Family Nurse Practitioner studies from Georgetown University, where I graduated in the top 10% of my class. My career has spanned various roles, including serving as a Combat Critical Care Flight Nurse in the USAF to working as the Clinical Director/Family Nurse Practitioner for an indigent clinic in Dallas. These experiences have equipped me with the skills and empathy to address the unique healthcare needs of diverse populations.
My commitment to community service is unwavering. From providing relief during Hurricane Harvey to setting up pop-up clinics for evacuees, and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am dedicated to making a difference.
At Rainbow House Calls, LLC, I provide a fee-for-service model to focus on patient care rather than navigating insurance complexities. My services include most office procedures, point of care testing, lab draws, and common primary and urgent care medications through a partnership with a pharmacy, all offered at greatly reduced rates. I am unable to provide Ob/Gyn services in the home setting due to lack of appropriate equipment and resources to provide appropriate care in the specialty. My goal is to create a one-stop shop for most of your mind, body, and spiritual needs in the comfort of your home, harkening back to the days of country doctors making house calls.
As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am deeply committed to serving my community and allies. My husband and I have been happily married for twenty-two years. Motivated by personal experiences of discrimination and the loss of my identical twin to HIV-related complications, I strive to ensure that every patient receives culturally sensitive, respectful, and high-quality care.
In my free time, I enjoy nature, cooking, and spending time with my husband and our two wonderful puppies. We’ve recently moved to Colorado to continue my practice in a supportive and inclusive environment.
